Beata Szalwilnska Records Szymanowski and Scriabin for Luxembourg Classics – A Deeply Introspective Project by the Polish–Luxembourg Pianist

Renowned Polish–Luxembourg pianist Beata Szalwinska  has just completed the latest chapter of her acclaimed Golden Series — an intimate and emotionally driven piano collection highlighting masterworks of the classical repertoire. Recorded at the iconic Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio (S1) in Warsaw and released under the Luxembourg-based label Luxembourg Classics, the new album features Karol Szymanowski’s 9 Preludes, Op. 1 and Alexander Scriabin’s 2 Poèmes, Op. 32.

Szalwinska ’s unique interpretive voice bridges cultures and generations, with a style that blends classical rigor, poetic introspection, and contemporary sensitivity. “I want my playing to move people deeply,” says the artist. “Sound holds truth that words often cannot express.”

What truly sets Beata Szalwinska  apart is her extraordinary combination of a powerful artistic personality and an exceptional, almost rare emotional sensitivity. Her playing is immediately recognizable — after just a few notes, listeners are drawn into her distinct, unmistakable world. Szalwinska ’s interpretations are not only technically masterful, but also offer something refreshingly new and profoundly individual. In a musical landscape often marked by repetition, her voice stands alone: fresh, intimate, and unmistakably her own.

The Warsaw recordings continue Szalwinska ’s search for emotional authenticity, and explore the spiritual landscapes of two visionary composers:

  • Karol Szymanowski, whose early works are steeped in Romanticism yet hint at modernism
  • Alexander Scriabin, a mystic whose music breathes sensuality, intensity, and transcendent symbolism.

“Beata doesn’t follow the usual path,” says Marco Battistella, head of Luxembourg Classics. “Her music is emotion, depth, and intimacy. Working with her is an honor.

”Szalwinska  is known for turning away from the mainstream spotlight to focus on contemplative, pure expression — a rare artistic stance that resonates in a world overwhelmed by noise. Her Golden Series is a personal musical journal, tracing deeply felt connections to composers like Piazzolla, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Tchaikovsky, and Gardel. Each interpretation is a quiet conversation, a moment of presence between artist and listener.

About the Album

The 9 Preludes, Op. 1 by Karol Szymanowski were composed in his youth, infused with lyricism and romantic fervor. Szalwinska ’s performance draws out their emotional depth and prophetic modern tone.

Scriabin’s 2 Poèmes, Op. 32, among the most sensual works in piano literature, embody shimmering delicacy and spiritual light — perfectly aligned with Szalwinska ’s approach to silence, subtlety, and inner reflection.

A Voice of Stillness in a Noisy World

In a time of endless digital exposure, Beata Szalwinska  chooses restraint. She creates in silence, performs with focus, and embraces music as a form of sanctuary. Her art invites listeners to pause, breathe, and reconnect.

“Music isn’t an escape — it’s a conscious shift in rhythm,” she says. “For me, it’s a ritual.”
